Bill-Haycock  > History > Battle for Missionary Ridge - Re enactment
The Battle for Missionary Ridge was part of the overall battle for Chattanooga. The Union Commander was U.S. Grant and the Southern commander was Braxton Bragg. The battle was fought November 23-25, 1863.

Missionary Ridge is located just south and East of the Tennessee River and was the fall back location after Confederate forces were pushed back off of Look Out Mountain South of the city of Chattanooga. The Union forces prevailed and this opened the way for General Sherman's "March to the Sea" through Georgia!
